Throughout the scriptures, we read of the Spirit moving in power. There are stories of Him hovering over chaos and creating order, speaking through prophets of things to come. Jesus promises it is better if he goes away that the Spirit may come in his place. The apostles, filled with the Spirit, heal and cast out demons. We believe these stories. What if they aren’t just for people of old but for us? What if amidst a pandemic, political turmoil, record breaking fires, hundred year arctic temperatures, and all the distractions of our cultural moment, the Spirit is waiting to move in power? How do we become a people who find ourselves ready?
